Russia's hybrid military forces on September 27 mounted 24 attacks on Ukrainian Army positions in Donbas, eastern Ukraine, with one Ukrainian soldier reported as fatally wounded.
"The armed forces of the Russian Federation and its mercenaries violated the ceasefire 24 times on September 27. During an enemy attack in the Joint Forces Operation (JFO) area, a soldier received a wound incompatible with life. The circumstances are being established by an ad hoc group of Ukraine's military law enforcement service. The Command of the Joint Forces expresses condolences to the relatives and friends of the deceased," the press center of the Joint Forces Operation Headquarters said on Facebook in a morning update on Saturday, September 28.
The enemy opened fire from proscribed 120mm and 82mm mortars, cannons installed on infantry fighting vehicles, grenade launchers of various types, and small arms.
Under attack were Ukrainian positions near the towns of Maryinka and Avdiyivka, and the villages of Vodiane, Bohdanivka, Pavlopil, Pyshchevyk, Lebedynske, Novotroyitske, Novoluhanske, Luhanske, Pivdenne, Travneve, Novozvanivka, and Novotoshkivske.
Since midnight, Russia-led forces have opened fire on Ukrainian positions six times.
