Reports that "leader" of the self-proclaimed "Donetsk People's Republic" ("DPR") Denis Pushilin is under arrest have appeared on "DPR" accounts on social networks.

He was allegedly placed under house arrest, they say.

Sources claim this could be connected with Moscow's plans to replace the "head" of the self-proclaimed republic in Donbas after Pushilin, during his recent visit to the Russian Federation, had announced that the so-called "DPR" would join Russia.

There have been no official reports that confirm Pushiln's arrest yet.

There were earlier unconfirmed reports that Pushilin could be fired from his post in the near future and replaced by incumbent "mayor" of Russia-occupied Horlivka Ivan Prikhodko.
