Russia's hybrid military forces on December 27 mounted nine attacks on Ukrainian army positions in Donbas, eastern Ukraine, with a Ukrainian soldier reported as wounded in action.

"The armed forces of the Russian Federation and its mercenaries violated the ceasefire nine times on December 27. One Ukrainian soldier was wounded in enemy shelling," the press center of the Joint Forces Operation Headquarters said on Facebook in a morning update on December 28.

The enemy opened fire, employing cannons installed on infantry fighting vehicles, grenade launchers of various types, heavy machine guns, and small arms.

Under attack came Ukrainian positions near the town of Maryinka, and the villages of Nevelske, Pisky, Hladosove, Luhanske, and Novoluhanske.

"Since Saturday midnight, Russia-led forces have attacked Ukrainian positions once near the village of Shyrokyne, using a hand-held anti-tank grenade launcher," the update said.
