ATO: Widespread attacks by militants continue for last day
Russian-backed militants in the Donbas have attacked Ukrainian army positions all along the front line over the last 24 hours, Ukraine’s Anti-Terrorist Operation press service reported on Facebook page on Tuesday.
Near Donetsk the militants attacked the Ukrainian army with mortars, artillery, machine guns, rocket-propelled grenades and small arms at the villages of Opytne, Pisky, Krasnohorivka, Novomykhailivka, and Vodiane, the town of Avdiivka and the area of the mine of Butivka. The militants also fired multiple rocket launchers twice on the village of Petrivske.
According to the press center, in the area of Luhansk the militants fired tank shells three times on the village of Syze. They also fired grenade launchers, mortars, anti-aircraft guns and machine guns at the villages of Zhovte, Stariy Aidar and the town of Shastya.
In the direction of Artemivsk, the militants fired grenade launchers, machine guns and small arms on the village of Kirove.
At the same time, in the direction of Mariupol the militants fired the same type of weapons on the positions of the Ukrainian armed forces in the villages of Shyrokyne and Myrne. However, after 2200 it was rather quiet there.
"During this period, the Ukrainian army recorded three reconnaissance overflights by enemy drones in the area of Shyrokyne and Manhush," the ATO headquarters said.
