ATO: Militants fire artillery on Hranitne, rocket-propelled grenades on Shyrokyne
Russian-backed militants in the Donbas attacked Ukrainian army positions and civilian areas 86 times from Thursday evening to Friday morning, including 50 attacks in the area of Donetsk, the press center of the Anti-Terrorist Operation said on its Facebook page on Friday.
According to the report, the situation in the Donbas conflict zone remains tense, but the Ukrainian armed forces have it under control.
The militants fired 82mm and 120mm mortars, fired weapons from infantry fighting vehicles, and made attacks with small arms and rocket-propelled grenades on the villages of Pisky, Opytne and the town of Maryinka. In addition, the enemy snipers were working there, the Ukrainian military said.
In the area of Luhansk, the situation was tense near the town of Shastya, and the villages of Novotoshkivske and Stanytsia Luhanska. The militants fired large-caliber mortars and other weapons banned under the Minsk peace accords on these settlements, the headquarters said.
In the evening, the militants attacked the village of Shyrokyne using banned 152mm howitzers and 120mm mortars, as well as small arms.
