One Ukrainian soldier killed in Donbas in last day
One Ukrainian soldier was killed in the Donbas conflict zone in the last 24 hours, presidential administration spokesman for Anti-Terrorist Operation Andriy Lysenko said at a briefing in Kyiv on Wednesday, according to an UNIAN correspondent.
"Between 01:00 and 02:00 on September 9, a sabotage and reconnaissance group of the enemy crossed the Siverskiy Donets River near the village of Syze and went into combat with the Ukrainian military," he said.
"After a half-hour shelling the enemy retreated. Unfortunately, one Ukrainian soldier was killed as a result of the shelling," Lysenko said.
As UNIAN reported earlier, the combined Russian-separatist forces attacked Ukrainian army positions in eastern Ukraine four times overnight.
