"Criminals do not deliberately shell Ukrainian outposts, but they open fire from the temporarily occupied territories in the direction of the Ukrainian positions. After unsuccessful attempts to draw the ATO forces into hostilities militants accuse Ukrainian military in violating peace agreements," the press service of the ATO reported.
According to ATO headquarters, at about 13:00 Kyiv time yesterday, the militants opened fire from small arms in the direction of the Ukrainian outpost in the village of Berdyansk near Mariupol.
"ATO forces did not return fire. And in the evening, some Russian news agencies began to wrongfully accuse the Ukrainian side of ceasefire violations and shelling of civilian areas," reads the statement.
Press center of the ATO Headquarters states that the Ukrainian troops adhere to Minsk accords and "despite provocations, they are doing everything for the long-awaited peace and stability to come to the long-suffering land of Donbas."
