Russian proxies resume attacks on ATO forces in Pisky and Opytne
The situation became tense in the Donbas conflict zone overnight as the combined Russian-separatist forces resumed their attacks on the Ukrainian military, the press center of the Anti-Terrorist Operation (ATO) wrote on Facebook on Friday.
"From 21:42 to almost 23:00 [local time on Thursday], the terrorists were firing on our positions near the village of Pisky. They also were firing a grenade launcher on the village of Opytne," the report says.
The press center also said that the militants had resorted to provocative actions near the village of Shyrokyne, firing rocket-propelled grenades and small arms. In addition, at 00:26 and 00:31 Kyiv time, they started firing an 82mm mortar.
"Abiding by the Minsk agreements, the Ukrainian military did not open fire in response," the press center said.
