Russian proxies attack Ukrainian troops with grenade launchers, small arms
Russian-backed terrorists have shelled the positions of the Ukrainian Anti-Terrorist Operation (ATO) forces near the village of Zaitseve, close to the militant-held town of Horlivka in Donetsk region, according to the ATO press service.
"It wasn't calm in the ATO zone on Tuesday, October 27 – terrorists opened fire on our positions near the village of Zaitseve, using grenade launchers and small arms," the ATO press service wrote on Facebook.
As UNIAN reported earlier, one Ukrainian soldier was killed in the Donbas conflict zone in the last day, presidential administration press secretary for ATO issues Colonel Oleksandr Motuzianyk said at a briefing in Kyiv on Tuesday.
"An armed incident occurred at the demarcation line on Monday. The militants who control the ruined Donetsk airport opened fire on our positions near the villages of Opytne and Pisky. One Ukrainian soldier was killed in the fighting," he said.
