Ukrainian troops in Donbas face 31 attacks on Wednesday
The combined Russian-separatist forces did not stop violating the ceasefire in Donbas, eastern Ukraine, having attacked the Ukrainian troops 31 times on Wednesday with the aim to provoke them into firing back, but they failed, according to the press center of the Anti-Terrorist Operation (ATO).
The enemy used small arms, sniper rifles and anti-tank hand grenades twice on Wednesday evening to shell the Ukrainian positions near the town of Maryinka, the ATO press center wrote on Facebook.
The Russian proxies do not stop firing on the northern areas near the temporarily occupied town of Horlivka.
They used 82mm mortars twice to fire on Ukrainian troops near the village of Zaitseve. Areas near the village of Novhorodske saw about 10 attacks when militants used small arms and heavy machine guns.
"The combined Russian-separatist forces located at the border between Donetsk and Luhansk regions along the contact line had been firing on the Ukrainian army with the use of heavy machine guns, small arms and guns of infantry combat vehicles," the ATO headquarters said.
Armed provocations were also staged by militants near the ruined Donetsk airport, namely in the villages of Opytne and Pisky.
At midnight, the enemy stopped using weapons in the ATO zone.
