The shelling of the village of Zaitseve by pro-Russian mercenaries intensified in the last days. In addition to grenade launchers, heavy machine guns and small arms, the enemy fired on the Ukrainian army positions from banned 82mm and 120mm mortars.
The Command of ATO forces in Donetsk and Luhansk regions was forced to announce the temporary closure of the checkpoint in Zaitseve to ensure safety of residents.
On February 1, the Ukrainian members of the Joint Centre for Control and Coordination (JCCC) of the Ceasefire and Stabilization of the Parties' Demarcation Line in Donbas informed the representatives of the OSCE mission about this decision.
"We have to state the fact that the OSCE monitors do not respond to the increased militant attacks on ATO positions in the village of Zaitseve and other settlements. Consequently, through their inaction, to some extent, the OSCE monitors share the responsibility for militant attacks on Zaitseve, closure of the checkpoint in Zaitseve and the escalation of the conflict in Donbas," the press center said.
