Russian proxies fire grenade launchers on ATO forces in last day
The combined Russian-separatist forces attacked Ukrainian army positions in eastern Ukraine 55 times in the past 24 hours, the press center of the Anti-Terrorist Operation (ATO) wrote on Facebook early on Friday.
"The militants fired mortars, rocket-propelled grenades and small arms 22 times on the Ukrainian fortified positions in the town of Maryinka. In addition, they fired an anti-aircraft gun on the Maryinka checkpoint, a sniper was also working there," the press center said.
The occupiers also fired small-arms and rocket-propelled grenades of various systems on the Ukrainian army positions in the villages of Pisky, Opytne, Mayorsk, Novhorodske, and the town of Avdiyivka. "Moreover, the enemy opened fire with mortars on our fortified position in the village of Zaitseve," the report says.
The Russian-backed mercenaries fired small arms and infantry fighting vehicles on the Ukrainian fortified positions in the villages of Starohnativka and Luhanske.
"In the Luhansk sector, the militants fired mortars, small arms and rocket-propelled grenades on ATO forces near the village of Bohuslavske," the press center said.
