Donbas sees de-escalation: 10 attacks on Ukraine in last day
The combined Russian-separatist forces attacked Ukrainian army positions in eastern Ukraine 10 times in the past 24 hours, using large-caliber mortars, the press center of the Anti-Terrorist Operation (ATO) reported on Friday.
In particular, the terrorists fired a 120mm mortar near the village of Mayorsk, as well as an 82mm mortar near the village of Zaitseve.
In addition, the militants used mortars to shell Ukraine's fortified positions near the town of Krasnohorivka and the village of Shyrokyne. Enemy infantry fighting vehicles attacked Ukrainian troops near Krasnohorivka.
The Russian-backed mercenaries fired small arms, heavy machine guns and grenade launchers of various systems on the Ukrainian fortified positions near the town of Maryinka, the villages of Opytne, Mayorsk and Zaitseve.
They also fired small arms and automatic grenade launchers on the Ukrainian fortified positions near the town of Avdiyivka, the villages of Pisky, Novhorodske and Luhanske. At midnight, the militants reduced their activity.
As UNIAN reported earlier, the Ukrainian armed forces retook the village of Shyrokyne near the Ukrainian-controlled strategic port city of Mariupol after Russian proxies had withdrawn from it, having left much evidence that they were sponsored and supported by Russia.
