Militants concentrate fire in Donetsk, Mariupol sectors – ATO HQ
The combined Russian-separatist forces attacked Ukrainian army positions in eastern Ukraine 27 times in the past 24 hours, including 21 times in the Donetsk sector and six times in the Mariupol sector, according to press center of the Anti-Terrorist Operation (ATO).
"Violating the existing Minsk agreements, the Russian-backed mercenaries fired 82mm mortars on the Ukrainian positions near the village of Luhanske and the Zenit fortified position in the vicinity of the town of Avdiyivka, having launched four mines," the report says.
The militants fired heavy machine guns and rocket-propelled grenades on the Ukrainian fortified positons near the villages of Zaitseve and Mayorsk, as well as the town of Avdiyivka. They also opened fire from small arms on ATO forces in the town of Maryinka.
"An enemy sniper attacked Ukrainian army positions near Mayorsk and Luhanske," the press center said.
At midnight, the militants stopped shelling.
