ATO HQ reports 53 attacks on Ukraine troops in last day
The combined Russian-separatist forces attacked Ukrainian army positions in eastern Ukraine 53 times in the past 24 hours, including 48 times in the Donetsk sector, according to press center of the Anti-Terrorist Operation (ATO).
The militants fired 82mm and 120mm mortars on the Ukrainian positions in the villages of Yakovlivka, Staromykhailivka, Lozove, as well as near the Donetsk airport, having launched more than 100 mines.
The enemy also fired mortars, grenade launchers and infantry fighting vehicles on ATO forces near Lozove.
The hottest spots were areas near the militant-held town of Avdiyivka, and the villages of Zaitseve, Mayorsk, Pisky and Opytne.
In the Mariupol sector, the militants used 120mm mortars to shell the Ukrainian troops near the villages of Shyrokyne, Novovyboievo, and the town of Dokuchaievsk.
In addition, an enemy drone was spotted over the village of Bohdanivka on Wednesday.
