Russian proxies attack Ukraine troops 79 times in last day
The combined Russian-separatist forces attacked Ukrainian army positions in eastern Ukraine 79 times in the past 24 hours, according to the press center of the Anti-Terrorist Operation (ATO).
The illegal armed groups fired 120mm and 82mm mortars 16 times on ATO forces near the villages of Pisky, Mayorsk, Zaitseve, Luhanske, and Kamianka.
The terrorists were most active near the town of Avdiyivka, where the enemy fired mortars and smaller caliber weapons 19 times on our positions.
The Russian-backed mercenaries also opened fire in the direction of the villages of Stanytsia Luhanska, Nevelske, Opytne, Hnutove, Zaitseve and the town of Maryinka.

"The Kremlin-backed militants violate the ceasefire both day and night. In the first case, the enemy often shoots at its positions in order to discredit the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the eyes of the civilian population. And in the second case, guided by the fact that there is no OSCE SMM representatives near the demarcation line at that time," the press center said.
The Ukrainian troops had to return fire eight times in order to hold their positions.
