The situation was tense in the Donetsk sector near the town of Avdiyivka and the villages of Opytne, Pisky, Maiorsk, Myronivske, Luhanske, and Butivka coal mine, where in addition to small arms, heavy machine guns and grenade launchers, the Russian-backed mercenaries fired mortars of various types on the Ukrainian fortified positions.
