Russia proxies attack Ukraine 46 times in last day with 10 hits on Maryinka
The combined Russian-separatist forces attacked Ukrainian army positions in eastern Ukraine 46 times in the past 24 hours, including 24 times in the Mariupol sector, 18 times in the Donetsk sector and four times in the Luhansk sector, according to the press center of the Anti-Terrorist Operation (ATO) Headquarters.
After a relative lull and a reduction in the number of attacks during the previous night and the first half of Thursday, the Russian occupiers were active from 18:00 Kyiv time, particularly near the town of Maryinka, where the positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine came under fire from small arms and grenade launchers of various systems more than 10 times, the ATO HQ said in an update as of 06:00 Kyiv time on June 17.
The militants opened fire from infantry fighting vehicles and a Zu-23-2 towed 23mm anti-aircraft twin-barreled autocannon on the Ukrainian fortified positions near the town of Krasnohorivka and added heavy mortars then. What is more, they used a tank twice to attack.

In the Mariupol sector, the Russian-backed mercenaries fired heavy machine guns and grenade launchers of various systems on the Ukrainian fortified positions near the villages of Shyrokyne, Vodiane, Hnutove, Slavne and Novotroyitske.
In the Donetsk sector, the enemy fired mortars on the Ukrainian positions near the villages of Nevelske, Luhanske and Troyitske, as well as heavy machine guns and automatic grenade launchers near the villages of Zaitseve and Novhorodske.
In Luhansk region, the militants used 82mm mortars to shell the Ukrainian fortified positions near the village of Novo-Oleksandrivka and the town of Popasna, as well as grenade launchers near the village of Novozvanivka.
