Militants intensify fire in Luhansk region
The combined Russian-separatist forces attacked the Ukrainian army positions in eastern Ukraine 57 times in the past 24 hours, including 30 times in the Donetsk sector, 16 times in the Mariupol sector, and 11 times in the Luhansk sector, according to the press center of the Anti-Terrorist Operation (ATO) Headquarters.
"In the Donetsk sector, the militants fired 120mm mortars on our positions in the villages of Troyitske and Novoselivka Druha, and the town of Avdiyivka. They also fired 82mm mortars on the Ukrainian soldiers near Avdiyivka, and the villages of Verkhniotoretske and Novhorodske," the ATO HQ said in an update as of 06:00 Kyiv time on July 7.
In the Mariupol sector, the enemy fired banned 152mm artillery systems on the village of Lebedynske, as well as 120mm and 82mm mortars on the village of Shyrokyne.

In Luhansk region, the militants opened random fire from 82mm mortars and rocket-propelled grenades on the positions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces near the town of Popasna, and the villages of Novo-Oleksandrivka, Bohuslavske and Novozvanivka, "provoking the Ukrainian soldiers to fire back."
As UNIAN reported earlier, only two-three militant attacks per day were recorded in Luhansk region in the previous few days.
