Militants continue attacking Ukrainian positions in Donbas
Combined Russian-separatist forces attacked the Ukrainian army positions in Donbas 23 times since the beginning of the day, according to the press center of the Anti-Terrorist Operation (ATO) Headquarters.
Half of the cases of ceasefire violations occurred in the Donetsk sector. The militants used heavy artillery banned by the Minsk agreements to attack the Ukrainian army strongholds in Avdiyivka. They also fired various caliber mortars, rocket-propelled grenades and heavy machine guns at the Ukrainian positions in Novoselivka Druha and Luhanske. Militants applied 82mm mortars and grenade launchers to shell near Verhnetoretske and Troitske. A sniper was reported to be operating in Verhnetoretske.
In the Mariupol sector, militants fired 35 shells of 122mm caliber, as well as 120mm mortars at the Ukrainian positions in Novotroitske. The situation was tense also near Krasnohorivka. The ATO forces in the area were attacked with 82mm mortars, and then with armored vehicles.
In the Luhansk sector, the militants launched three attacks at Novooleksandrivka, using 82mm caliber mortars, grenade launchers of various types and heavy machine guns.
