Poroshenko: Ceasefire in Donbas observed for 12 hours
Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko said the ceasefire has been observed in Donbas for over 12 hours, according to a UNIAN correspondent.
"On August 26, I issued a directive to our representatives in the Tripartite Liaison Group to offer the full ceasefire regime from September 1. For 12 hours and 5 minutes – I want to congratulate you – this regime has been observed; there is no shelling at the front," Poroshenko said during a meeting with students and professors of Kyiv National Technical University of Ukraine (Ihor Sikorskiy Kyiv Polytechnic Institute) on the occasion of Knowledge Day and the beginning of the new school year.

As UNIAN reported earlier, on August 26, at a meeting of the Trilateral Contact Group in Minsk, Ukrainian representatives called on Russian-backed militants to stop violating the ceasefire from September 1.
