Militants attack Ukraine 26 times in last day, hot spots in Mariupol and Donetsk sectors

Combined Russian-separatist forces attacked Ukrainian army positions in eastern Ukraine 26 times in the past 24 hours, using banned weapons, according to the press service of the Anti-Terrorist Operation (ATO) Headquarters.


During the previous day, the militants focused fire primarily in the Mariupol and Donetsk sectors.

In particular, the occupiers opened fire from mortars, grenade launchers, and infantry fighting vehicles on the town of Krasnohorivka and the villages of Shyrokyne and Vodiane.

The enemy fired mortars on the village of Luhanske, as well as heavy machine guns -- on the village of Opytne.

The village of Balka Kosharna was under fire, and the village of Krymske three times in a row. Additionally, the enemy fired grenade launchers on the villages of Troyitske and Stanytsia Luhanska.

In the Mariupol sector, Russia's hybrid military force fired from mortars, grenade launchers, and small arms on the villages of Shyrokyne, Talakivka, Pavlopil, Novomykhailivka and Taramchuk, as well as from infantry fighting vehicles on the village of Vodiane.

In the Donetsk sector, the militants used rocket-propelled grenades and small arms in the town of Avdiyivka and the village of Zaitseve.
