Escalation near Avdiyivka: 2 KIA, 5 WIA Monday morning
Two Ukrainian soldiers were killed in action and another five were wounded as a result of militant shelling of the town of Avdiyivka on Monday morning, the press service of the Anti-Terrorist Operation (ATO) Headquarters reported on Facebook.
"The situation in the Donetsk sector near Avdiyivka remains tense. In the morning, the enemy continued their insidious attacks with the use of tanks and artillery systems. The positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were fired on from the villages of Yakovlivka and Spartak. At about 10:30 Kyiv time, the shelling from heavy weapons stopped but harassing fire from small arms is continuing. Two of our soldiers were killed and another five were wounded," the report says.
