Poroshenko: Over 2,650 Ukrainian troops killed in Donbas war
Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko estimates that over 2,650 Ukrainian soldiers have been killed in action since the start of the Anti-Terrorist Operation (ATO) in Donbas early in April 2014, according to an UNIAN correspondent.
"Since the beginning of the ATO, we've lost 2,652 Ukrainian heroes – they are from Ukrainian military and law enforcement agencies, namely the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the SBU Security Service of Ukraine, the National Guard, the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, the National Police, and others," he said during an official event at a tank unit in a Ukrainian-controlled area in Luhansk region on April 12.
