Ukraine updates on Donbas war: 49 attacks, 6 WIA's in last day
Russia's hybrid military forces attacked Ukrainian army positions in Donbas 49 times in the past 24 hours with six Ukrainian soldiers reported as wounded in action (WIA), according to the press service of the Anti-Terrorist Operation (ATO) Headquarters.
"The Mariupol sector: the militants attacked our fortified positions 20 times there. After 18:00 on Sunday, one of the Ukrainian fortified positions near the village of Vodiane came under fire from 120mm and 82mm mortars. The occupiers also repeatedly fired small arms at our positions near the villages of Shyrokyne, Hnutove, and Novotroyitske. Additionally, they used rocket-propelled grenade launchers and heavy machine guns near the village of Pavlopil. Positions near the village of Talakivka were attacked by infantry fighting vehicles," the report says.
Ukraine reports 4 WIAs amid 61 enemy attacks in last dayIn the Donetsk sector, the Russian occupation forces were most active near the town of Avdiyivka. After dark, they fired 120mm and 82mm mortars and small arms there. The enemy also used 82mm mortars, grenade launchers and small arms to shell the defenders of the village of Luhanske. Moreover, heavy machine guns and small arms were used near the village of Novhorodske.
"The Luhansk sector: nine militant attacks were recorded there in the past day. In the evening, the invaders opened fire from 82mm mortars on the Ukrainian troops near the village of Troyitske. The Ukrainian fortified position near the village of Stanytsia Luhanska came under fire from a heavy machine gun. Furthermore, the militants used the same types of weapons, as well as grenade launchers near the village of Valuiske," the press service said.
