Escalation in Donbas: Ukraine reports 5 WIA's on Aug 11
Russia's hybrid military forces continued to attack Ukrainian army positions in Donbas on August 11, resulting in five Ukrainian soldiers were wounded in action (WIA), according to the press service of the Anti-Terrorist Operation (ATO) Headquarters.
"The situation has worsened near the town of Avdiyivka. From midnight, the Russian occupation forces shelled the nearby Ukrainian positions three times for almost an hour, using mortars, grenade launchers and heavy machine guns. The Ukrainian military had to fire back, forcing the enemy to observe the ceasefire. Unfortunately, four our fighters were injured as a result of these confrontations," the report says.

"The invaders have repeatedly striven to impose a joint withdrawal of forces from the demarcation line in this area in order to create the so-called 'Avdiyivka gray zone.' At the same time, the ATO forces have never planned to change positions, so the town was and will be under the control and protection of the Armed Forces of Ukraine," the headquarters said.
In addition, the occupiers fired grenade launchers near the village of Novo-Oleksandrivka in the Luhansk sector at night. Moreover, another Ukrainian soldier was injured during the militant attack on the Ukrainian fortified position in the village of Krymske.
