Donbas militants active in Luhansk sector, 1 WIA on Aug 20
Russia's hybrid military forces attacked Ukrainian army positions in Donbas 19 times on August 20, mostly in the Luhansk sector, with one Ukrainian soldier reported as wounded in action (WIA), the press service of the Anti-Terrorist Operation (ATO) Headquarters reports.
"On Sunday, the intensity of attacks on Ukrainian positions by the Russian occupation forces did not decrease. Today, unlike the previous day, the enemy was most active in the Luhansk sector," the report says.
It is noted that the terrorists launched at least 24 mines of 120mm and 82mm calibers on the Ukrainian fortified positions near the village of Novozvanivka. In addition, the Ukrainian positions near the villages of Novotoshkivske, Novo-Oleksandrivka and Troyitske came under enemy fire. Furthermore, one Ukrainian soldier was wounded as a result of the mortar shelling of the Ukrainian fortified positions near the town of Popasna.

In the Mariupol sector, the militants opened fire from 82mm mortars on the Ukrainian positions near the villages of Pavlopil and Chermalyk.
"Along with the shelling of the Ukrainian positions in the occupied part of Donbas, the Russian-backed mercenaries continue to violate justice. According to our operational information, a militant of the 9th regiment of the Marine Corps has recently committed an accident in the village of Huselschykove, being in a state of alcoholic intoxication. As a result of a head-on collision, two militants were killed on the scene. In the town of Dokuchaievsk, another militant shot down a motorcyclist and tried to escape from the scene. In order to somehow improve the level of discipline and prevent drunkenness, the leaders of the occupiers spread false information about the activation of Ukrainian intelligence groups on holidays and on weekends," the press service added.
