"Since the beginning of the day, the situation in the ATO zone remained tense but controllable by the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Since midnight, illegal armed formations have already violated the ceasefire 10 times," the ATO HQ wrote on Facebook in its evening update on Tuesday, October 31.
The ATO forces fired back in response to half of the attacks, it said.
During hours of darkness, the enemy opened fire from a 120mm mortar to shell Ukrainian troops based near the village of Kriakivka in the Luhansk sector. In the day time, they used a grenade launcher to attack the village of Krymske in the same sector.

In the morning, our stronghold near the village of Opytne came under fire from a large-caliber machine gun and small arms. One Ukrainian soldier was killed and another was wounded in the attack. Another ATO serviceman was wounded in a grenade attack on our positions not far from the village of Kamianka. Furthermore, the defenders of the village of Pisky and the town of Avdiyivka came under fire opened by the Russian occupation forces at about 16:00 local time," the ATO HQ said.
What is more, anti-tank grenades were lobbed into areas near the Ukrainian-controlled village of Shyrokyne in the Mariupol sector. Small arms were used outside the villages of Starohnativka and Vodiane.
