"In the past day, units of the Joint Forces recorded only one shot fired by the Russian Federation's armed formations from an under-barrel grenade launcher near the village of Shumy. The shot was random and provocative, so our soldiers did not fire back," the press center of Ukraine's Joint Forces Operation said in a Facebook update as of 07:00 Kyiv time on July 29, 2020.

There were no Ukrainian army casualties, it said.

"It should be emphasized that measures of a full and comprehensive ceasefire allow Ukrainian soldiers to return fire when the enemy violates the [peace] agreements and jeopardizes the life and health of [Ukrainian] servicemen," it said.

The enemy did not attack Ukrainian positions from 00:00 to 07:00 Kyiv time on July 29.
