One Ukrainian soldier was killed and one was wounded as Russia-led forces mounted 17 attacks in Donbas, eastern Ukraine, on Monday, July 20.

"Russia's armed formations violated the ceasefire 17 times in the past day," the press center of Ukraine's Joint Forces Operation Headquarters said on Facebook in an update as of 07:00 Kyiv time on July 21. "Unfortunately, as a result of enemy shelling, one Ukrainian serviceman was killed and one was wounded."

The enemy opened fire, using proscribed 122mm artillery systems, 120mm and 82mm mortars, grenade launchers of various types, heavy machine guns, sniper rifles, and small arms.

Under attack came Ukrainian positions near the towns of Popasna and Maryinka, and the villages of Myronivskiy, Shumy, Orikhove, Novotoshkivske, Prychepylivka, Luhanske, Starohnativka, Pavlopil, Shyrokyne, Kamianka, Hnutove, Vodiane, and Opytne.

Joint Forces returned fire to each enemy shelling. According to intelligence reports, one member of Russia-led forces was killed and another two were wounded on July 20.

The enemy did not attack Ukrainian positions from 00:00 to 07:00 Kyiv time on July 21.

No casualties have been reported since Tuesday midnight.
