Russia's hybrid military forces on July 5 mounted eight attacks on Ukrainian positions in Donbas, eastern Ukraine.

"The Russian Federation's armed formations violated the ceasefire eight times in the past day," the press center of Ukraine's Joint Forces Operation said in a Facebook update as of 07:00 Kyiv time on July 6, 2020.

Russia-led forces fired proscribed 120mm and 82mm mortars, grenade launchers of various types, heavy machine guns, and small arms.

Under attack came Ukrainian positions near the town of Maryinka, and the villages of Shyrokyne, Pavlopil, Novotroyitske, Khutir Vilny, and Orikhove.

Joint Forces returned fire to each enemy shelling. According to Ukrainian intelligence reports, two invaders were killed and another two were wounded on July 5.

"Since Monday midnight, Russia-led forces have attacked Ukrainian positions six times near the villages of Novhorodske, Zaitseve, Pivdenne, Khutir Vilny, and Verkhniotoretske, using 122mm artillery systems, 120mm mortars, grenade launchers of various types, and heavy machine guns," the update said.

No casualties have been reported among Ukrainian troops since Monday midnight.
