EU to discuss new sanctions against Russia next week

Mogherini was speaking at the opening of the Berlin Foreign Policy Forum on the role of Germany and the EU in international affairs.

According to Russian news agency TASS, Russia's permanent representative to the EU Vladimir Chizhov said the topic of sanctions against Russia would be discussed at a ministerial meeting of the European Union on Monday, on November 17.

The renewal of sanctions or their revision requires a unanimous decision from all 28 EU member states.
