President optimistic about Ukraine joining NATO MAP
At Alliance’s Bucharest Summit
During his press conference in Brussels President Victor Yushchenko stressed that he is very optimistic about Ukraine’s possible accession to NATO Target Plan at Alliance’s Bucharest Summit, according to the President`s press-office.
According to him Ukraine still has a lot of work and talks with different sides before it to make the thing happen. Yet V. Yushchenko recalled that he has had a number of bilateral meetings and phone talks with the leaders of Alliance’s key members and is very satisfied with the results. “In last few weeks, I think, we have achieved a good progress”, - he said.
President also stressed as had done many times before, that the decision of Ukraine to join NATO Target Plan does not in any way mean threat for any other party.
