The Government of Ukraine is interested in building strategic relations with the Russian Federation. Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Tymoshenko announced at press conference today. According to her, Ukraine hopes that negotiations between Ukraine and Russia concerning gas issues will result in signing long-term contracts, for 3-5 and 10 years with a predictable price, according to the government’s press-office.

Yulia Tymoshenko said that negotiating process with Russian side complies with agreements of Presidents of Ukraine and Russia and outcomes of her negotiations with leaders of the Russian Federation. At that she stressed that the Agreement signed between NJSC “Naftohaz” and “Gazprom” on natural gas supply to Ukraine envisaged all details discussed during her meeting with President of the Russian Federation Volodymyr Putin: moreover, what we have agreed about is realized in this agreement”.

Yulia Tymoshenko has no doubt that Ukraine and Russia will achieve understanding “not only in the natural gas supplying system to Ukraine but in all issues which gave rise to disagreements, misunderstanding, conflict or confrontation for many years”. “We really believe that relations between Ukraine and the Russian Federation will be built harmoniously in all spheres,” the Prime Minister of Ukraine stated.
