Czech police filed charges against eight Russian and Vietnamese citizens for hacking into foreigners’ registration systems, said prosecutor Peter Ullrihova.

According to the official, they were detained on September 18, Tellerreport wrote.

“Now the police have charged them with hacking a computer system and data carriers. Four of the detainees are also accused of laundering criminal proceeds. All eight individuals are currently being held in custody,” RIA Novosti quotes Ullrikhov.

According to the report, the suspects managed to gain several hundred million kronas via the scheme.

In March, the Czech Republic extradited to the United States a Russian national Evgeny Nikulin, suspected of cyber attacks on major American companies.
