Ukraine to continue peacemaking mission in Kosovo – Ohryzko
An investigation into Kosovo incident conditions to be carried out
Ukraine does not plan to withdraw his peacemaking contingent from Kosovo.
According to an UNIAN correspondent, Foreign Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Ohryzko disclosed this to journalists today, after the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine.
“Peacemaking activities of Ukraine will continue. The issue of the withdrawal is not pressing”, V.Ohryzko said.
He pointed out that an additional thorough investigation into the conditions of the incident, which caused death of a Ukrainian peacemaker in Kosovo, will be carried out. The Minister added that the Foreign Ministry has been maintaining a constant contact with the UN Secretariat on this issue.
V.Ohryzko also assured that they will find new ways and means to provide the security of Ukrainian peacemakers, including within the frames of collaborating with KFOR.
V.Ohryzko also presented his condolences to the family of the perished Ukrainian officer.
