Latvia says EU has no plan to respond to hybrid war

"The problem of hybrid war is a new one, that’s why the EU and Latvia have plans to find a way to deal with it," he said, according to Ukrainian political weekly magazine Novoe Vremya, with reference to Baltic news portal Delfi.lt.

According to Vējonis, the European community should develop a strategy for rapid response to the threat if it happens.

"In addition, the recognition of the threats of a hybrid war will be discussed during the presidency of Latvia in the EU Council," he said.

As reported earlier, Latvia declared its readiness for a possible scenario of hybrid war, taking into account events in Ukraine.

Similar statements have also been made by the authorities of Estonia.
