President meets Schafers, Barrow
They are the newly appointed Ambassadors of Germany and UK to Ukraine
Reinhard Schafers, Germany’s Ambassador to Ukraine, and Timothy Barrow, Britain’s Ambassador to Ukraine, have presented their credentials to Victor Yushchenko, according to the President’s press-office.
Then they spoke about energy issues and Ukraine’s role in Europe’s energy security. Mr. Yushchenko assured the diplomats that Ukraine would be a reliable energy partner.
Then they discussed the current situation in Ukraine and considered ways to settle the parliamentary crisis. The Head of State reiterated that Ukraine’s foreign policy would not change and expressed hope Germany and Great Britain would support our country on its path to Europe.
Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Borys Tarasyuk attended the ceremony.
