PACE report highlights Russian orchestration of east Ukraine conflict (Video)
Russia is heavily involved in the conflict in east Ukraine, and there are no signs of civil war, according to the rapporteur of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe Kristýna Zelienkova, following her visit to Ukraine last month, reports Ukrainian newspaper Zerkalo Nedeli.
The presence of Russian fighters, propaganda and command structure were noted in report, according to Ukraine Today.
The diplomat said that not just heavy weapons supplies but also propaganda influencing political decision-making, and the military command structure Moscow has put in place constitute Russia’s participation in the conflict.
Maenwhile, Zelienkova says that the voice of Ukrainian media is not heard in the Donbas region.
The report may be put to voting at PACE after being considered by the Committee on Political Affairs and Democracy in May-June this year.
