Belarus has refuted the report that earlier emerged in the media claiming that Russian military forces had allegedly been deployed in the Belarusian part of the Chornobyl exclusion zone bordering Ukraine.

"The information disseminated online about the alleged 'presence of Russian troops in the Belarusian part of the Chornobyl exclusion zone' does not correspond to reality," the statement reads.

As reported earlier, a report was spread on Facebook about the presence of Russian troops near the Ukrainian-Belarusian border in the Belarusian part of the Chornobyl exclusion zone.

Information was brought to the Ukrainian military command of all levels.

The press service of the 61st Separate Infantry Mountaineers Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine stated that in this regard, servicemen had begun to verify information about the presence of Russian troops.
