Ukraine's Embassy in the United States has called on Apple Inc. to fix the Crimea map and depict the peninsula as Ukrainian territory.
"We guess Ukrainians [are] not giving any thanks to Apple this Thanksgiving! So let's all remind Apple that Crimea is Ukraine and it is under Russian occupation – not its sovereignty," the Embassy said on Facebook on November 27.
The Embassy also said it had immediately asked Apple Inc. to change the incorrect designation of Crimea as part of Russia in the company's apps. In addition, it is said that Ukrainian diplomats had also drawn the attention of the U.S. Department of State and other competent departments to the situation with the Crimea map.

As was reported, Apple Inc. began to show the annexed Crimean peninsula as part of Russian territory on its apps to "comply with Russian demands."
The region, which has a Russian-speaking majority, is now shown as Russian territory on Apple Maps and its Weather app, when viewed from Russia. But the apps do not show it as part of any country when viewed elsewhere.
Apple had been in talks with Russia for several months over what Russia's State Duma described as "inaccuracy" in the way Crimea was labelled. The tech giant originally suggested it could show Crimea as undefined territory – part of neither Russia nor Ukraine.
Most of the international community, including the EU and the U.S., does not recognize the annexation of Crimea to Russia.
