Tymoshenko calls on to launch dialogue between Ukraine and Schengen states
On introducing non-visa regime
Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Tymoshenko views important the launch of dialogue between Ukraine and Schengen states on possibility to introduce non-visa regime.
According to the government’s press-office, the Head of Ukrainian Government stated during her speech at the session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe in Strasbourg.
Yulia Tymoshenko told that beginning of such dialogue is envisaged by the Action Plan between Ukraine and the European Union. “We know that negotiations won’t be rapid but it is important that we have launched it as we’ll know now what demands to be made of Ukraine and how these demands our state should ensure”.
At that Yulia Tymoshenko thanked Foreign Ministers of Ukraine and Poland for the achieved agreement on small border traffic and expressed wish for the soonest implementation of this agreement. Yulia Tymoshenko expressed gratitude to Polish people for the support of strategic aspirations of Ukraine.
Moreover, the Prime Minister of Ukraine told that during the meeting with PACE President Lluís Maria de Puig she made a request to accelerate appointment of Ukraine’s representative to the European Court of Human Rights.
