"The border with Ukraine is 1,084 km long. So it happened, that it is less equipped. In addition, we take into account the events that take place in Ukraine – the spread of weapons and ammunition, including in areas that border with Belarus," Zas said.

"Belarus is closely monitoring the events in the territory of Ukraine. Unfortunately, there is a negative trend there. In this situation, we must pay particular attention to our southern border," he said.

At the same time, Zas said that in general, such measures are not extraordinary. Last year, same measures were taken at the north-western borders.
