The Defense Ministry of Ukraine and the National Defense Department of Canada signed a Plan for Bilateral Collaboration in 2008.
According to the press-service of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry, the document was signed on 22 April in Kyiv by Defense Ministry’s international collaboration department chief Ivan Androsenko and military attaché at the Canadian Embassy to Ukraine lieutenant colonel Michael Jordan.
The military collaboration plan stipulates carrying out military-political consultations between the military departments of Ukraine and Canada, as well as other measures, which will help broaden military ties between the two countries. A particular attention is paid to the joint participation of the two countries in drills and field exercises.
I.Androsenko thanked the Canadian side for the long-lasting and fruitful help in training Ukrainian military men at language and professional courses in Canada.
In his turn, M.Jordan assured the Ukrainian side of keeping on the collaboration, and stressed he has been doing his best to increase the number of Ukrainians invited to the language and professional courses in Canada.
The sides also shared their opinions about the international security and peacemaking missions of the two countries.
