"The European Union as such does not have a military role in Syria," she said, stressing that the EU sees Syria’s major problem in providing humanitarian aid.
According to Mogherini, the EU is ready to increase humanitarian assistance and deliver aid at the heart of Syria.
"After all, the only way to allow the Syrians to return to their country safely would be putting an end to the war and putting an end to the presence of the Islamic State in Syria. This the only security we can bring to Syria," said the head of European diplomacy.
