President Victor Yushchenko held a phone conversation with the President of Russia Dmitry Medvedev, according to the President`s press-office.

Sides discussed topical issues of Ukrainian-Russian cooperation. President Yushchenko expounded to his Russian colleague the position of Ukraine on a number of questions brought up by the Russian side, saying that in its conduct Ukraine is being guided by its own national interests keeping up to the agreements and meeting its obligations.

The two Presidents agreed to continue their dialogue on problematic subjects at the informal meeting of the CIS heads of states on June 6 in St. Petersburg.
