Germany registers 1.09 million asylum seekers in 2015

The infomation was obtained by Reuters on Wednesday from the agency's sources in Chancellor Angela Merkel's coalition government, confirming German media reports.

The number of migrants crossed the one million mark after 127,320 asylum seekers were registered in December.
