Chernomyrdin leaves post of Russia’s Ambassador to Ukraine?

Victor Chernomyrdin, who has been working as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Russia to Ukraine, will shortly return to his motherland.

According to Nezavisimaya Gazeta, rumors are rife among Ukrainian politicians, and the newspaper’s source in the Russian Foreign Ministry, in fact, confirmed this information, having noted that the concrete date of replacing the Ambassador to Kyiv depends on the Russian President.

Experts in both capitals connect the eventual resignation of the Russian Ambassador with the 225th anniversary of Sevastopol,  which was celebrated last weekend on Ukrainian, and not on Russian scenario.
