NATO must adapt to counter modern threats from Russia: Stoltenberg
NATO must change to counter new global security threats, Jens Stoltenberg, the defense alliance's secretary-general, has told the reporters at the World Economic Forum in Davos, according to Ukraine Today.
"We have to improve our intelligence, we have to improve our situational awareness, we have to improve our surveillance to define exactly when we are under attack because in the old understanding of an attack, it was obvious as in tanks rolling over from the Soviet Union attacking western Europe, then there was no doubt at all,” said Stoltenberg, Ukraine Today reports.
“Now when we have cyber-attacks and hybrid warfare including ‘little green men' when we are under attack requires more intelligence, situational awareness and have much less warning time," the NATO chief said.
