Yuri Yekhanurov noted that Ukraine would like to consider the problems of the supplies and payments for gas to Turkmenistan in the light of preparing a new long-term agreement for signing. At the same time, the Ukrainian authorities hopes that the agreement will be signed during the visit of Turkmen President Saparmurat Niyazov to Ukraine.

Yuri Yekhanurov disclosed that, by preliminary information, this visit may be paid after S.Niyazov’s visit to China, scheduled for late April – early May of the current year. He stressed that currently the Ukraine’s debt for the Turkmen gas makes more than 150 million dollars, which corresponds to the price of the monthly volume of gas supplies from Turkmenistan to Ukraine.
